we all know that Europeans have no feelings that need be respected by Americans. Do I really need to make that caveat with every single post?

I hope you're not implying all Europeans are monarchists. We have a royal family, it doesn't mean I like them. I also have Spina bifida and don't particularly like that either.

Hey, if you had a 2nd amendment you could do something about it.

in fairness, it needs to wait until we hear LB. But after that...

Maybe after all of this complaining is done and dusted, we can have an emotional clean slate at RM, from which we can begin to talk about LB, our palettes cleansed.

The one where he said that it wasn't as brickwalled as S/T?

And that this stuff happens in mastering which isn't handled by bob.

I'm not necessarily impressed by O'Brien's resume post-2000. Has anyone listened to any of the other albums he's produced recently (especially since around the 2009 Backspacer era) to see if they are all overly compressed? Is it just his style to squeeze songs til they're shit?

that'd be the one:
mcp wrote:I don't currently have the s/t album (yeah, I said it. I'd say it again if I had to), but here's the shot of Mind your Manners I posted a few weeks back. Keep in mind that Manners is noticeably less compressed than s/t tracks were....some of those were virtually just a big smear of blue.
