William Bloke wrote:Radiohead fucked up with True Love Waits on the new album. That live version was quite lovely and uplifting and I think a similar studio take as that, simple acoustic with the little electro-organy thing, over Tom's more lively vocals, would have provided a far better bookend to the album, and played well against the opening quirkiness of Burn the Witch.
I think I'd rate the album far higher just for that single change.
I havent heard the live version but the album version is kinda boring so you may be right.
Is it similar to what they did to videotape?

Bloke is wrong. The arrangement of TLW on AMSP is perfect.

Yep. Big fan here. I always enjoy when the jam kicks in and I wasn't expecting it. Happy days.

Have you seen 20000 Days on Earth?
Not yet. I've heard mixed things.
Just saw this tonight. What a great document.
The version of Higgs Boson Blues on this was unhinged and awesome.

Totally agree, b-snatch. I mean, it's okay, but overall pretty unremarkable. It's one of my least favorite songs on the new record.

Randomly decided to give Simple Minds' Greatest Hits (2 CD!) a spin after hearing Alive and Kicking on the radio today.
This was a mistake!

Hey, I have a great idea. Let's write a song about my son who was tragically killed. and immediately put it in a movie about drug dealing!
