Ayton would have been there in either offer. Herro plus two or possibly three firsts plus two swaps. Unless they have a time machine for Holiday I don’t think he’s going to get more than an additional first than Herro would get them.

I would much rather have Bucks' 2028 and 2030 picks than Miami's. They will likely be better picks because of Milwaukee's inability to get free agents and be a trade destination for marquee players once Lilard is past his prime. Miami always finds a way to reload and stay relevant.

I don't think he had much trade value. He clearly didn't based on what Portland got back and whatever Miami was offering. That was the only reason I was good with Miami getting him. That contract is atrocious, he can't play defense, basically no contending teams need a PG. All that stuff. I'm good with Miami not overpaying for him.

It is amazing that after humoring the divas like KD and Kyrie and Harden over and over that the line gets drawn over Dame.

Those were just swaps, though right? One pick and two swaps. Picks that far out seem like lottery tickets to me, so I don't feel strongly, I'd take quantity over trying to pick which team I think will suck 7 years from now.

It's probably best for Miami long term that this didn't happen. Still it's a bummer because Jimmy and Dame winning a ring together would have been amazing.

What was the Miami offer? Was anything ever officially leaked or was it just hearsay?

Hearsay.

The official line is that they made their offer, never improved it and told Portland if they thought they could do better to go do it. Miami wasn't going to bid against themselves. I'm not really upset at that.

It’s been fascinating watching 4/5 plow through the five stages of grief these last few pages.

Big Jrue fan worried about where he ends up. He's what Celtics fans thought Marcus Smart was except Jrue is the real deal.

It's healthier that way. I'm mostly upset that they let this hijack the entire offseason. If they truly weren't desperate and all that then they should have moved on months ago and built out the roster. And I'm still upset they didn't manage to dump Lowry's expiring early in the offseason when there were teams that could absorb that contract.

I'm a little sad. Rob was my favorite. Him and D. White were the only guy that weren't constantly crying about something. I get it I would have made this trade too. You had too. Rob is ALWAYS hurt. Getting Jrue was 100% the right move. You gotta give up something to get something. I'll miss him though. Excited and sad.
