They're not weighing in as "white guys", they're weighing in as comedians. Seems there's a virtual consensus on this by now, by all sexes and races.

you're talking about several white male comedians who have "weighed in" since it happened; they don't represent the community any more than anyone else who was pro-Will, but they do stoke flame wars

Most comedians; black, white, male, female, and other agree... because they don't like the precedent.. obviously. It is their beloved profession they are concerned about. I bring this up because you brought up Jim Carrey.
