Shopped around some vinyl on Amazon last friday while drunk and ordered a record I apparently already own, which I discovered last night.
Idiot.
Sold it at work for what I paid, at least.

I was able to snag a copy of Neil Young's "Storytone" off of Amazon for $18 (remember when this shit retailed at $70?). I don't think I'd ever given it a proper listen before, but I really like most of these solo songs. Very simple songwriting, but they set a sweet, tender mood and really feature my favorite type of Neil vocals. The price has dropped pretty low everywhere (~$20), so it's worth your time if you're wondering!

So much of my record collection is made up of albums I own in other formats.
Yesterday I got I See a Darkness by Bonnie 'Prince' Billy. I'd never listened to it before. Don't own it in any other formats. And I spun that twice yesterday and once today. What a gorgeous album.
It's nice to have a first time vinyl experience.

Certainly, it's something I can relate to. Every time I'm in a record store I find myself looking for shit I already own on CD first. It's weird.

The recent trend of all these repackaged vinyl sets is getting super annoying, and reminds me of all the dumb DVD box sets that cluttered Circuit City shelves for years.
