These were two of my alternatives. Super close to picking Ambitionz, but folks who haven't heard much Tupac probably associate him more with that type of track than something like "Dear Mama," so I went with that. (Oh and shouts to whoever picked "Changes" because that song is amazing.)

People used to tag that mp3 as Mazzy Star back in the early days of file sharing. Kind of like how you'd always find a live version of "Daughter" that was purportedly by Dave Matthews Band featuring Eddie Vedder.

I think I thought that before napster days n napster sort of confirmed it
then again because of napster I thought Coldplay was coolplay.. that was when people thought altering names n song titles slightly got them by copyright laws

I thought horse with no name was a Neil young song for like 2 years because of this.

Oh yeah, I really wanted to draft an Ani DiFranco song. Probably Both Hands or Dilate (which is the only song that has ever made me openly weep. Granted it was after a terrible breakup with a girl who was a huge Ani DiFranco fan and was always pissed I never took the time to listen to her. That song was not a good place to start).
