For the record, they're using Chris Cornell's passing as an opportunity to share their personal experiences, however fleeting, with Chris Cornell, while you're using it as an opportunity to have a minor hissy fit about celebrities' social media posting habits.

Christ, this is so strange. I don't have the relationship with Chris's work that many of you do, having only a passing familiarity with most of it, but this is still sad and completely unexpected. That he was in the midst of still being an active, creating artist, even more so. RIP.

Lying in bed listening to the radio once the alarm clock went off this morning when I heard the news. I was never a huge fan but the guy had a great voice and had seen him perform a couple times. Given his connections to our band this is obviously a loss for the Pearl Jam community as well.
It's going to be a sad day; such an unexpected loss.

Im all fucked up with this news. Its unexpected, its sad, it so fuckin weird...Chris Cornell is dead. There wont be a SG album, there wont be a tour, he wont be around to do whatever he wants to do...its so wrong, so fucked up.
I cant imagine what his family is living right now.

Like some of you have said I hate this b/c it somehow feels more personal, having gotten into Soundgarden at a young age.

He was a real guide and patron for that scene (and obviously PJ). He's gonna be horribly missed. This is a big big deal.

I feel terrible for his family and bandmates. This fucking sucks.

I don't want to be down on the others here but Kurt was almost expected, Layne was no surprise, nor was Scott Weiland. This however has truly blindsided me.

he seemed really engaged by the promotions he was doing for The Promise and the Soundgarden tour. talked about his daughter all the time on Twitter. fuck.

Just doesn't seem real. All of the premature suicide stuff is pissing me off too. I simply can't imagine that. Damn this one is gonna hurt a long time.

www.newsday.com has it listed as a possible suicide, but that literally the only place I found that says that.

My shitty local Fox affiliate said suicide.
