Giant (weird, I loved it, man it's weird)
I saw in the 50/50 challenge thread you watched Giant.

It’s a great movie but what’s weird about it?
The character motivations. The way some things are over explained and others are just thrown out there and under developed. Some of the performance choices. Action beats. Etc.
I haven't watched Giant in ages though growing up I definitely made it a point to watch Dean's three films relatively often.

No idea when I'll get the time but I may have to sit down with Giant now knowing these two tidbits:
wikipedia wrote:Stevens gave Hudson a choice between Elizabeth Taylor and Grace Kelly to play the leading lady Leslie. Hudson chose Taylor.
Stevens had a reputation as a meticulous film editor, and the film spent an entire year in the editing room.

I liked it enough, i had to see it in two times because it was loong but i liked the creative process and Billie´s persona. Really cool.
I'm really excited first this.
It made me more appreciate of their creative approach and the way they recorded the album. Also, you kinda forget how young she really is and how good and grounded she is at making the music, doing press, directing the videos.

Our "BBC" just had a Harry Dean Stanton theme night. They showed Partly Fiction, Paris, Texas and Lucky. Good stuff.

After finishing off the Jack Irish series on Netflix - I discovered that there were three movies as well. Watched these and thought they were all pretty great. Loved Guy Pierce and am wondering how Aaron Pedersen isn't a bigger star

Read a review that said Murphy is brilliant in it but not actually in the movie as much as you would expect.
