3 1 2 5 4 seems about right. 1 could be lower, but it did start it all. 3 is easily number one.

the last dozen or so chapters in Dance, when it catches up and combines with the Feast storylines, is my favorite part of the series

I plan to read that part of Dance right before Winds releases along with chapter summaries for every book before that.

I’d like to re-read the whole books so I am not confused between the books and show.

The dude who played Barristan Selmy said books 6 and 7 were already done and George made a deal with HBO to wait to release them.
George has since said that is total bullshit.
These actors don't know anything.

I wouldn't be that surprised if it was true, to be honest.

I also think the ending will be somewhat similar, but lots of other differences befiore that.
Don’t think the books are finished. Martin did seem confident that book six will be out next year. Or maybe I’m reading too much into what he said.

I think summer of 2020 seems promising considering his recent statements. For the last few years he refused to even hint at a timeframe because he was sick of setting "deadlines" and then missing them. The fact that he's willing to float a timeframe seems to indicate that he's close enough to the finish to be right about it.

Dude... at the end of Feast he LITERALLY says Dance will be out "next year." Then we waited for half a decade. So...

What if the real Dance with Dragons was GRRM dancing around deadlines?

Exactly. He gave timeframes, missed them, then refused to give them anymore because he was tired of missing them, and now he's starting to float them again.
