I'm about 85% through the main story of Arkham Knight, but I've really enjoyed it. The Batmobile bugged me early on, because they were really shoving it down your throat, but I've gotten used to it now and actually am enjoying using it.

Rocksteady has done a great job with the series, so it will be interesting to see what they try next.

Yeah, the Batmobile ended up being one of my favorite parts of the game aside from a few isolated unnecessary platforming/racing parts. Definitely interested to see what Rocksteady does next. While I'm sure it'll be quality, I hope it's not just another comic book universe with identical gameplay.

Also, totally addicted to the Witcher 3. Threw it in last Thursday just to check it out and see the beginning parts, but now I have a full beard and I don't even know what day it is.

This latest update is entirely too large. I want to play. Not update for 8 hours.

Ugh, this is one of my biggest gripes with modern gaming. At best i'm able to get a couple of hours here and there to play, so there is nothing more aggravating than firing up the ol gaming machine and seeing a 16gb mandatory update waiting (i'm looking at YOU Elder Scrolls ).

Rocket League is so much fun. Has anyone here played it? It is one of the free PS Plus game this month for PS4.

Yeah, it is a big problem, especially big day one updates for something you're really looking forward to. But that only really seems to affect the games that have a strong online component. This Witcher patch worked out for me though. I was playing for like 6 hours straight and it just downloaded in the background. Fired up the next day and it was installed and ready to go (with a lot of welcome improvements). In fact, most game updates download and install on their own since my PS4 is in rest mode 70% of the time.

you know, i've been wary of doing this for fear of wearing out the hardware prematurely, but after reading about people doing this, it doesn't seem to be an issue. The power consumption is minimal so the fan isn't running. I might give it a go.

Rest Mode is the way to go.

The only thing that scares me about rest mode is the power going out and it fucking up the system. It's happened a handful of times, and luckily nothing bad has happened, but the system has to do a memory check that takes a few minutes and it makes my heart stop every time. I've been trying to actually power down when I know it's not going to be turned on for a while. I do love that rest mode charges the controllers when the system is off, too. That's one of the most minor, but most awesome features of this gen.

Also, someone talk to me about the Witcher. I'm totally obsessing over this game.

I've had that happen a few times with the power going out too. Scary times.

Why does the battery life of PS4 controllers suck so hard compared to PS3 controllers? Is it because of those annoying lights it won't let me turn off?

Yep. It's that damn light. They should be rolling out an option to turn it off in the near future.

At least we don't have a Kinect to deal with.

After finishing Arkham Knight, I'd rank the 3 Batman games...
