Curious as to what you disliked. I enjoyed it even if it wasn't great. The plot dragged a bit in the second half, but Mulligan is really good as usual, and the cinematography was beautiful.

ha, i didn't like the cinematography. too busy and too much malick. though i'm with you on mulligan.

lately i have more contempt for excessively milquetoast, competently middlebrow fare than "badly made" movies

The Dig is "excessively milquetoast, competently middlebrow fare", but it still works because it's kind of nice just to spend 90 minutes with Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes. Compelling actors can really bump a movie up from forgettable waste of time to fine.

Two very different docs

Kid 90s

i like it, mostly because i knew all those guys, and havent though of them in a long time...Jonathan Brandis! Justin Pierce...hell, even Soleil herself..it was a good time capsule and loved that Eddie´s Rise was featured.
Everything related to Charlie Sheen was weird.

Time.

I loved how it was shot, that beautiful black and white, and powerful ending. It was pretty cool.

Just finished Kong: Skull Island. I enjoyed it. Sure, it was pretty predictable, but a lot of the deaths took me by surprise. Liked the updated Kong monster. The giant spider was very creepy and I didn’t like it at all. I guess that was the point. Reilly was great, as was Goldman Sam Jackson, Whigham and Loki. Brie Larson is a goddess sent down from the heavens. I really liked how they had it set back in ‘73 and how they’re building this universe to span over many decades.

Next up: Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Was it known at the time of release that it tied in with the Godzilla flick? That was a pretty fucking cool post-credits scene.
