I still play Heroes 3 regularly. Simply the best.

So I just read Witcher 4 was shown somewhere today. I’m obviously behind on my ps4 odyssey, but tell me about Witcher 3. What I really want to know is, can I skip 1 and 2? Do I need to read books? Also, I keep seeing Elden Ring brought up. Is that like Zelda or is is legit rpg, turn-based kind of stuff. I don’t really have any interest in that.

I think you can play 3 on it's own. It's an action-rpg. Not turn based.

Front Mission 3
I haven't played enough Baldur's Gate or XCOM to include those, but they're widely regarded as masterpieces.
I haven't beat any of those, but I own a few of them. Never heard of Battletech or Battle Brothers. You would probably enjoy Shining Force II and Fire Emblem.
You should probably knock out
Final Fantasy 7 and
Chrono Trigger one of these days, dude.

I have been playing assassin’s creed odyssey for many hours now. I appreciate that there are no missions where you gave to follow someone, and I absolutely love the setting, but man, it’s so repetitive. Black Flag was my first AC experience last summer, and this will surely be my last.

Going back to finish up of things in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor after two years away. Such an excellent game that got completely overshadowed by Tears of the Kingdom and Baldur's Gate that year.
I checked my save file and my last save was 5/11 (TotK released the following day).

Cool. I recently beat that game and am about halfway through its prequel. Kids love it too, being huge SW nerds these days.
I just bought Gran Turismo 7 on sale and it's quite cool. Gonna try to master cornering. It's hard. I keep wanting to drift like Mario Kart but that ain't gonna happen apparently.

GOTY material
I loved the first one, but the new one improved everything
Some parts of it felt like something else...videogame 2.0

No end in sight. I don’t know how to check my hours or progress.

RM, help me decide on my next game to play alongside Donkey Kong Bananza:
Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth OR Cyberpunk 2077
I have played the part one of the Final Fantasy VII remake (which I liked a fair amount) and was relatively lukewarm on The Witcher 3.

I’m interested in hearing about Cyberpunk. That’s on my list for probably 2026. I have one Tomb Raider game to go, but I decided on Witcher 3 to follow that and ordered it today. I’m thinking that and then Hogwarts and then the Indy dlc to close out the year. If I have time for something else, i never played the Wii U 3d Mario.
