Yeah I know and this isn't a critique on that movie just the financial risk involved with all these Avatar ventures. I never see anyone one geeking out on or clamoring for more Avatar. It's not my money so good luck but....I just wonder how much of that gross was based of the temporary 3D craze that seems dead now.

I get what you're saying but after the performance of Titanic and Avatar, I can't imagine Fox is feeling very nervous investing in Cameron.

I thought Marvel was crazy for making an Ant-Man and Dr Strange movies and they made a ton of money so what do I know.

Avatar 2 is going to flop so hard that Avatar 3 will be a VOD-only release. No one cares about that movie anymore. It sucked and no one remembers it now that the hype has faded.

Well, Alien is Ridley Scott's jam. So it's really up to him.
Cameron is getting the rights back to Terminator soon. Doesn't surprise me that he wants to "right that ship" so to speak once it's his again.
