been listening to this the past day or two. ridley, do you know where some of the edits came from? example, Idioteque's extended outro and layered vocals. were creative decisions like that created by a fan? or were they cut from alt. versions of songs and mixed into the originals?

I believe they're creative decisions by the fan who made this, using stems and extended/alt versions extracted from the Kid A Mnesiac Exhibition/game. I haven't played it myself so I'm not entirely sure, but I think the extra vocals in Idioteque are taken from the live BBC version that can be played on a TV screen inside the exhibition.

Is it a different take/mix/version? Or a totally different song?

Give it a chance. If you havent listened to the originals in a while, it's startling how much it sounds like a new Radiohead album. Like "Kid A(Thom's version)".

I'm ideologically opposed to this whole project. Like Harry Potter fan-fiction but somehow more confusing.

in the interests of not coming across as an unappreciative ingrate (i appreciate the effort and definitely for having access to these (thanks again ridley)), it's hard for me to get as excited about it knowing that it was all fan-made.

Well it's not really all fan-made. All the sounds you are hearing were made/released by Radiohead - either as alternate versions or as blips/bloops/stems/soundscapes in the Exhibition game. They have essentially just been 'curated/assembled' by a fan into something coherent (and something pretty special IMO).

i love these guys, and how they play so well together, and their passion.. i just struggle to enjoy these songs very much for some reason(s).. they just feel kinda stale

I would recommend seeing them if you get the chance.

Also, I swear I saw something last night that Radiohead will be getting together this year. Nothing more specific.

You probably mistook that for a story about Radiodread. They’re working on some solid reggae covers of the King of Limbs and AMSP.
