There is a blaming the victim aspect to blaming trump for every idiot running out in traffic or rushing the stage. The media is looking really desperate. It will just backfire, though I'm not sure anything they say matters anymore. Both Trump and Sanders have thrived despite the machine's attempts to stop them. I think that's fantastic. Republicans adding superdelegates would be disastrous. It's probably next to impossible for the dems to get rid of theirs.

Predicted Storylines Coming out of Tuesday (Republican Edition):

-Trump wins every state except Ohio (and maybe, maybe Missouri), and discussions of a Trump nomination get that much more serious.
-Kasich wins his home state and keeps his "Golly, gee" campaign going for a few more weeks.
-Cruz maybe wins Missouri, and shows well enough in some other states to continue showing life.
-Rubio doesn't win a state, barely wins any delegates, but doesn't announce that he's dropping out right away. Meets with Cruz later in the week to discuss endorsement/strategy, then drops out and basically begs supporters to vote for Cruz so this can go to the convention.

I was just reading a study that argued that Trump losing Ohio means he is more likely to win the nomination, as it keeps things a 3 way race.

I have no idea to what polls this is referring, but I just got this in one of my thrice daily e-mails from the Sanders campaign.

OHIO
Clinton 46%, Sanders 41%

ILLINOIS
Clinton 48%, Sanders 45%

MISSOURI
Sanders 47%, Clinton 46%


Assuming these reflect some legit polling, remember where all these numbers were a week or two ago? These primaries can't happen fast enough for Hilary.

Right. Cruz's actual policymaking would surely be much more destructive than Trump's.

this election has mainstreamed a lot of ugliness. On the one hand you can't address these problems until they're out in the open, so I guess that's a positive. But when these sentiments had to be conveyed on the slide and through dog whistles at least it acknowledged that certain beliefs are not appropriate for a public airing.

In terms of their supporters, sure. I don't think so if we're talking about the actual candidates. I think Trump has a big mouth and likes to talk a lot of bullshit, but his actual policies would be much more moderate (as he's indicated in certain statements about things like Planned Parenthood and working with democrats) than Cruz's, who really believes the crazy shit he says.

and that is why im afraid of a trump presidency. It will state "this outright bigottedness and hatred is totally acceptable!"

Some of the polling on the Dem side for Tuesday's primaries has been bizarre. Demographics wise Hillary should be slaughtering Bernie in Illinois. One poll showed Bernie winning the Hispanic vote like 65% to 30%, which is the complete opposite of what it has been.

Also, I think a couple of the polls you listed were YouGov online polls, which always favor Bernie.

But I'm not discounting Bernie's momentum, in many ways there's a sense of Hillary just hanging on. I'm not sure I can think of another Dem that will be heading into the general on such a slide. She's pretty much had a "momentumless" campaign.

That being said, I still think she'll beat Trump handily.

Here's a fun fact I just researched: only 3 men have been VP for two terms and then later elected president; the two most recent are obvious, but I'll put them all under a spoiler in case you want to guess:

I don't think it necessarily means anything because of the small sample size, but Adams and Bush were only 1-term presidents after being VPs and Nixon wasn't elected until 8 years after his VP terms ended. But it could suggest, maybe, that it's hard to have the stink of 1 administration around for so long.
