I also think like Ello that social media is and always be a very difficult place to find calm. I dont have Twitter for example, and i feel i dont have that anxiousness their users have.

BUT

i get what Mrs Harmless is saying and part of why we can be clueless about the why or how is because we dont get so much hate about who we are. Its easier for us, because nobody is picking and pointing and killing and hating us.

I do absolutely everything I can to curate my online experience to avoid as much hate as possible, but I can't get rid of it entirely

I'm obviously wrong about this because to think I'm among friends is wildly inaccurate on this site, that's clear, but sometimes I want to be able to give examples of the hate I can't avoid, and have someone say "shit, yeah, that's bad I'm sorry", instead of "have you tried going outside?"

especially when said person has no idea what happens to a disabled trans woman when we go outside

maybe I'm in the wrong place to ask for empathy since Ello Sailor seems to be mightily confused

giving the same advice to everyone doesn't work because everyone is not having the same experiences; that's in/equity 101

I don't know if this is the wrong place or not. But there are those of us here who see you and hear you and have empathy to share. I fully understand that may not be enough. Rightly so. You have to take care of yourself. But I am truly sorry that you feel this isn't a space where you can be yourself and thrive. That's our failing.
