No, it IS our fucking fault. We should be smart enough to know that it's a written article and everything can't be grasped from a tossed off quote from Jeff or Mike on how the album is going. Even if the writer sucks, it is the reader's fault for overeacting.

There's a responsibility to read maturely, of course, but when journalists write terrible articles and people who aren't press-savvy say stuff which could be interpreted badly, I don't blame people for overreacting at all. Music journalism is terrible these days and usually you have a million ways something could be interpreted after a PJ article. I dont know man, take any quote from stone in that Video Interview and put it to paper and a majority of PJ detractors would manipulate it into some bullshit that Ed has brainwashed stone or something...

Nope. We should own up to it and quite shifting the blame on poor writing. Recognize it as poor writing, we should be critical enough to do that. And also recognize that we are not actually face to face with them and that the written quote could have been said in many many different ways. That is our responsibility. Then, knowing this, we won't overreact like fools. Come on, a little of both my ass. It is as clear as day for me.

Well yeah, good point. But there's always some authorial intrusion in an article. Either not enough, or too much, or the wrong thing. I think that's badly handled by the writer sometimes. Also, I just think the video allows you to see facial expressions while they're talking. Stone looks happy. Jeff looks content. These things are crucial for our piece of mind, and it's not like this band does that very often. They've been very quiet over the last several years apart from in very contrived, staged, nostalgic settings (PJ20) and badly-written articles. It's great to see them lounging around and chatting. I think that more of this would prevent a good deal of negative speculation, because silence and / or spin breeds that kind of stuff.

Edit: Tuolumne, I'm not exempting the fans' responsibility to not be idiots in their speculation. I'm just saying that it's all of the above, and I understand the fan speculation given other factors. It's all of it, not just one thing or another thing.

Man, that is an astute observation. Thing is, Carrie is intelligent as all hell. I'd be intimidated by her. She could be a college professor. As right as I think you are, I do think she's down to earth enough to see them for what they are and really appreciate them as a band. The don't have to think she's judging them like that. But I thought her interview brought out a whimsical nature in the band that I hadn;t seen too much of. Love her.

So, yea im actually kind of excited about this album. Even though I think LTRP is a waste of space, i feel the tracks we haven't heard may or may not make it a great album. By all accounts, to me, it sounds like they will be the best songs. As I stated previously, as long as Sleeping By Myself brings more to the table than just a quick Uke turned full band song, and Future Days is produced well enough to not be boring...
