Imagine how badly we'd be shitting on that title if we didn't have this pic to go with it.

I agree. I would say there's a better chance we'll get a little cheesy ballad about how much Ed loves his daddy BUUUT 1) does he? and 2) this artwork has got to be purposeful. I mean, the artist can't just be hearing these songs and wildly misinterpreting them just so that they look cool, can he?

Yea youre right it is perfect as it is...They should try it out live one day....as long as they dont change the tempo i think it would be good...Its one of my fav pj related songs of the past decade i think....incredible lyrics...
:haha:[/quote]

No. And im 99.9% certain that the band (Jeff and Ed probably) had serious oversight and input on the art work.

I happen to think that's a great title actually. It suggests a disdain at his father and himself and songs about internal conflict ring often more true than the blame the rich/god/rightwingers/society/etc theme we hear way to often now.

I'm 51% certain that the band (Jeff and Ed probably) had some input on the art work, but mostly just said, "do your own thing and make it cool".

Well then, dammit, my expectations are raised... finally... like shades.

Along with MYM and the tour video instrumental, there's nothing about this that looks terrible so far except BO'B's piano on FD. Ironically, if that horrible electric piano is covered in strings it'll sound OK. They need to go full cheese or not include it.

There is no way BOB didn't take a dump all over FD.

To be honest, I've not heard 'blame the rich' from Ed at all. I think people are throwing that in along with his other complaints. He complains against religious and political hierarchy, war, inequality, financial corruption and greed, etc. etc. But he's never simplistically said it's rich people's fault.

I agree. I like the title alot. (It could be my subconscious though since I really like the image that goes with it :?: )

Also, Lightning Bolt no longer bothers me. (As an album title that is, I still don't like the idea of a title track though...)

AND Let the Records Play doesn't even bother me anymore.

Wow, things are really looking peachy... :luv:

Could be a sappy ballad about how ed got over BURNING FLAMING JIZZ BOTTLE HATRED with love and lightning bolts. But I hope not

That's what I'm hoping. I think I'm actually most exited to hear this song out of all of em.

I think my main complaint is that his electric piano was Ed's only audible accompaniment and it sounded totally unnecessary. Like someone's playing a nice little acoustic ditty and suddenly someone walks in banging a huge military bass drum to interrupt him. But if that piano is put back in the mix, and maybe there are other instruments like strings... yeah that'll be OK. I liked The End. It's a better song to begin with, of course.

Why is 'Records' plural?

Would you listen to a crappy phone recording of the listening party? I would and I wouldn't let it color my impression of the album, but I could see how some would be turned off by it.

I'm excited about that too. But that's cause I keep equating it with that moon improv its going to sound nothing like.

I'm less excited about sirens because of the artwork though, still really like the name.
