yeah, there is always a line or a moment from a PJ album that completely defines a moment of my life, sometimes something thats happening right now, or something that will happen or just happen.
Gigaton had some very eerie moments with the pandemic happening when it came out, but overall pretty much every album has it. As a kid i was blown away with listening to Habit while my ex gf had a nasty drug addiction or Grievance while the economical crisis of my country happened in 2001, and those are just two little examples of this.
I guess thats a testament of good of a lyricist Ed or the boys are, or at least how good they understand the world sometimes.

It was the overuse of "agency", wasnt it?
It wasn’t not that, that’s for sure

That’s fine. But ranking it above anything after two songs is just trolling.

There’s three songs i like on lightning bolt. So far these two don’t beat any of the three so below it. Also, backspacer is worse than LB

im with you. neither of these beat the best of lightning bolt
- Spoiler: show
- I almost wrote best of the ‘Bolt’ but thankfully put a stop to that before I could do any lasting harm

is their still time for some edits to call it "the bolt" in your book?

I would probably put Dark Matter the song over just about anything on Lightning Bolt. On one listen I would probably place Running in the mix there, not better than the top of that album but nowhere near the bottom.

Lightning Bolt is still in my top half of PJ albums. Statistically it will remain there but DM could knock backspacer into the bottom six

Dark Matter will most likely slot in above or below Gigaton for me but too early to tell.

Still early but suspect Dark Matter, as a single document, will land high on this list for me.
