Why in the hell did it pull Pedro at 78 pitches?!

I was wondering the same thing. Numbers is gonna be pissed. Pedro was having one of the best outings of the tournament.
@SkitchP wrote:Who is the MVP, commish?
I'd be tempted to say Alex Rodriguez. He was a beast in all three series. Who would you say?

7 HR in 18 postseason games is hard to argue.

:haha: I think things may have been a bit different if we had been able to manage bullpens on our own. Pitchers were routinely left in for 130+ pitches despite getting lit up... then you have moves like this one.

I dont think they would have been any different.

SkitchP just had a team of destiny.

I mean... obviously you still would have won everything, just... different scores. Or something.

Tournament MVP Alex Rodriguez hit .351 with 7 home runs and 22 RBI in his 18 games. Nice second round pick, Skitch.

Also, Ben Grieve's pregame speech before game six of the series against Argonauts was constantly referred to as "the turning point" by everyone in the SkitchP clubhouse.

I gotta say, this went better than I anticipated. I had fun, so thank you to everyone who participated. I hope this isn't a one-off.

Well the Franchise tourny starts now, right? Like... right now.

I think the franchise one should be next. It just depends on how long people want to wait before doing another tournament. We'll probably just have a sign up, and then give everyone like a week to finalize their rosters, and then we'll start it.

We can start the sign up here, if you'd like.

Phil - Blue Jays
Lament - White Sox

I'll have my team together pretty quickly, I would think. I started looking at former Jays players' stats as soon as Skitch broke my heart in Game 7.

Does it make it hurt more or less that the team who knocked you out went on to win it all?

I wouldn't say it hurts more or less... it does make it easier to convince myself that I had the 2nd best team in the tournament. Then if you think about it, I blew it in a Game 7 walk-off that could have gone either way, so in my heart I had the best team that lost in a Game 7 fluke.

Or something.

Honestly, I thought Argo had the best team in the tourney.

I think maybe the "franchise" tournament should include some consolation games among eliminated teams. While not eligible for the championship, I think an overall standings might be fun, as well as keep people engaged once they're eliminated.
