For me, Sunshower has always been his finest moment.

For me too, I think. It's his greatest song that is fully his, along with maybe "Like Suicide".

I haven't logged in here in a really long time but this was the first place I thought of checking in when I heard the news this morning.

One of the best shows I've seen is still Blind Melon/Soundgarden/Neil Young at Jones Beach. The memory of Chris' voice carrying over the crazy storms they played through is still something that gives me chills. I'm so sad for his family right now. Terrible news.

Hah! I like the idea of insulting him via his cousin's merit's, of which I know nothing of :haha:

Chris was the man. I didn't listen to much of his stuff in recent years, but man I'll miss him.

It's like if he made it to 50 why do it now? Statistically I'm sure suicide is correlated to youth.

Hah! I like the idea of insulting him based on his cousin's merit's, of which I know nothing of :haha:
Oh, im sure he'll tell you ALL about him, and then post a few dozen YouTube videos of him covering a song that kinda sounds like a soundgarden song, but isn't, yet dj thinks its really worth a listen because, you know, its his cousin... Sorry, just venting. Im fairly angry Cornell is dead.
carry on

Rock music is something that you feel more when you are young. I get sad all the time thinking about how electric certain things were when I was say, 20, and I wasn't in an awesome rock band. Being a 52 year old rock star can be a pretty lonely place I bet

If it was suicide Chris probably could have benefited from giving up on the music being good and joining baseball camps like Eddie did. Just decide to be old and rich.

It's actually highest among those between about 45 and 65.

im unsurprised. Im now 51. Its way more difficult living now than when i was in my 20s. Not that ive ever been suicidal, but its easier to understand why my parents would tell me to enjoy my youth because there's very little about aging that's fun.
Im just rather floored he's dead, regardless of the circumstances

Im certain that suicide rates are highest in males 15-25. Ive read it. And of course all people get depressed but you'd think for the average guy, if you can fight through it for 50 years, you'd think you could hold on.

Everyone is different, I guess. While I had lots of superficial fun in my 20s, I'm much happier with my life now at 42. Agree aging sucks, but it's still life.
