It's as overly punishing as humanly possible

I don't think it is as difficult as people have been making it out to be, but it's not for everyone either.

Aaaand now I’m probably not even gonna bother finishing because I got a stuck on a zombies level with Soulslike boss battles. I’ve never liked Zombies mode and the die over and over until you learn their patterns shit is a gameplay style I absolutely detest. So tired of difficulty-core invading so many games where it doesn’t belong. Just let me shoot soldiers goddammit

I played through Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer on Switch. It was $15, and it’s my favorite Christmas cartoon so I figured I’d play it rather than watch it this year.

It’s a straightforward platformer with subpar controls and horrible camera movement. There were at least a dozen really challenging things to do solely because of that, and while I managed, I can’t understand how a 6 year old, whom this is aimed at, would. Most of those challenges aren’t key to finishing the game, but if you don’t 100% it, you don’t get the cutscene at the end where Santa picks up the misfit toys. It’s the best scene. wtf?

I was overthinking this, I’m downloading Clair Obscur. Won’t get to play until after the weekend but I’m looking forward to it.
Big surprise, this game is the shit.

So I got Dave the Diver and its awesome. Very addicting loop.

Also, I wasn’t sure about Outer Worlds 2 at first but am really enjoying it now after about 3 hours.

I finished Cyberpunk 2077. Very enjoyable, though the final act was a bit too easy.

I tried Bolatro for the first time this morning and I guess the good news is I won’t ever have time to talk to my family again.

One week later, I won my first run. It was fun the entire time but winning was really quite a rush.

This thread has inspired me to pick up Balatro again. A great game for the upcoming holiday traveling.

I’ve got it on my Xbox and laptop because it’s on Game Pass, but I’m seriously considering getting it for mobile too, $10 seems like a steal. Just trying to decide if I want it to run my life like that.

It’s an insanely brilliant game made by one guy, which is wild. I go in and out of playing it but its an easy game to pop back into.

I'm hoping to abandon my family and dive deep into Act 2 of Silksong over the break.

This is awesome. I tried to make 2025 a real video game comeback year, and I did well for 8 months, but I haven’t touched a game since school started in September. Here’s my 2025 in order I played/beat them:
1 Last of Us 2 (Xmas vacation 2024)
2 Red Dead Redemption 2
3 Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
4 God of War
5 Indiana Jones - This was my favorite game I played this year.
6-10 The Uncharted Series
11 GTA V
12 Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
13-15 Tomb Raider 2013 and beyond trilogy
16 Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound

My must play list for 2026 is smaller. I currently own copies of Ghosts of Tsushima, GoW: Ragnarok, Witcher 3, and Hogwarts. And I’ll do the Indiana dlc. Those are the priorities. I might add Cyberpunk or fully immerse myself in the Resident Evil series. We’ll see. Glad to be catching up on some iconic titles. I sure hope a new Mario game is announced this year.
