I'm worried that, regardless of whether this album is good or not, it won't be something one can talk about endlessly.
The interest will be over in a... flash?BurtReynolds wrote:I'm worried that, regardless of whether this album is good or not, it won't be something one can talk about endlessly.

I didn't think Backspacer was something one could talk about for more than a few minutes, but four years lately I've been proven extremely wrong.BurtReynolds wrote:I'm worried that, regardless of whether this album is good or not, it won't be something one can talk about endlessly.
True. Just look at the amount of discussion the 2 live tracks (plus MYM) have generated so far. I think this one will tie us over until the next one. If not, we'll just have to hope that Kurt can come through with some more B sides.Lament wrote:I didn't think Backspacer was something one could talk about for more than a few minutes, but four years lately I've been proven extremely wrong.BurtReynolds wrote:I'm worried that, regardless of whether this album is good or not, it won't be something one can talk about endlessly.

okay, reality check. The following are bands/artists I like a lot but prefer backspacer to all of their output
Beck
Soundgarden
Bruce Springsteen
Counting Crows
Bright Eyes
Ani DiFranco
Fiona Apple
Dresden Dolls
Rage Against the Machine
Stone Temple Pilots
The White Stripes

Direction of the album. Tone of the album. Concept of the album. Fuck that shit! Just put the best 12 songs together you cunts or else the concept of you next album is turd and its direction - the fucking sewer!Strat wrote:
I dont think any of them have specifically stated it wont be on the album but Mike eluded to Ed not being happy with the studio taking of the song and have not really found a place for the song to fit on a record. That could have all changed once they found a direction for the album...
