Y'all are lucky Mojo already did all the work for you.
PJ is higher up their list than I would've guessed.

Cranberries ahead of Soundgarden should get this crowd fired up.

Black Francis would be annoyed at Pixies being listed as The Pixies

That list is making me question whether or not I really know what Grunge is.

Surprised AIC didn't make it either.
Has there ever been a band that leveled up so dramatically from their early records to their prime (the Trees)?

How familiar are you with them. They have 4ish SST records that are all pretty much garbage but kind of fund knowing who Mark Lanegan became. But Uncle Anesthesia is pretty solid and Sweet Oblivion and Dust are two of the best records of the 90s, full stop. The last album they never finished recording is good enough if you're a fan, but it's a huge step back and it was clear by then the band was holding Lanegan back

I really only know the hits off Sweet Oblivion. Dollar Bill being my favorite

speaking of mr lanegan, where are queens? it's not the worst list i've ever seen. but i'm not sure the arctic monkeys should be ahead of talking heads on any list. and i like both bands.

Kinda hoping I'm mis-remembering this, but, I feel like I listened to Lanegan on a podcast shortly before he passed, and, he said the brothers were just the most miserable human beings and that they were lucky that he was ever even in a band with them.
I recall being really disappointed hearing that. Not sure if they spoke prior to his passing, but, I hope they were able to exchange some cordial words towards the end. I'd like to think that he at least had some warm feelings towards what they created together

There are Homme lyrics on this page of posts, at least.

No way should Nirvana's 3 albums and short-lived career be ranked ahead of Radiohead's 9 album/20+ year catalog of perfection. And having Smashing Pumpkins and Foo Fighters in front of PJ is just... unfortunate. I can definitely see the argument for the rest of the top 5.
