As more of a question than say a criticism, but why do fans and the media for that matter go crazy over band member’s birthdays. I am all for celebrating milestone years since albums and other music was released because it gives us a chance as fans to appreciate the work, but band member’s birthdays always seemed mildly stalker-ish, and to me trivialized the artist for celebrity. Or maybe it just creeps me out, especially when it’s Eddie Vedder for some reason because there was always this surreal balancing act of fans that just enjoyed great rock and roll in the early nineties against those that sort of deified him and almost anthropomorphized the art with the human being. Am I being too mean here?
