Me too. I get he’s the lead singer but his voice has always been another instrument amongst a great band whose whole is better than the sum of its parts.
The Eddie worship makes no more sense than boy band obsessions.

That will never change. Think of any famous rock band - 9 out of 10 times you’ll think of the singer first, and half the time will struggle to place the name of another member.

Well, the voice and words have a very very powerful impact on ones soul and thoughts.
No question the rest of the band have an impact. Mike is the reason i picked up the guitar and forever changed my life. But without Ed and that voice....and those words.....through my very most influential developmental years...

I think that's not as true for me as for most people, but I know that it's true for a lot of people.

Not me. I remember seeing TotD on their tour. Watching Mike, Stone, Jeff and Matt without EV was so enjoyable.

Oh, EV is definitely a star in the band, and the singers often draw you in, but there’s some sort of creepy thing about EV obsessions - like the weird fan art that’s drawings aloe renderings Eddie glory shots. I can see EV drawing you into Pearl Jam, but once you’re in, for me it is the music that takes hold and keeps you there. Also, I’ve just never been one for idolatry.

We need to talk about Eddie's gilet

In the Mach II video, Eddie is clearly wearing..... a gilet.
* What were your thoughts when you realised what he was wearing?
* Can gilets ever truly be rock and roll?
* Does Eddie pull it off (not physically, but does he style it out)?
* Will this herald a new era of gilet cool or will it remain the domain or middle-aged ramblers?
* Do YOU own a gilet? If so:
*Are you happy with your gilet?
* Would you wear your gilet to a gig?
* WILL you wear your gilet to a gig (perhaps a PJ gig) now that this item has been endorsed by Eddie?
SO MANY QUESTIONS.

he’s been a closet gilet wearer for years. i’m glad he’s finally had the courage to come out as who he truely is.

I guess it's only a small step from thinking that it's a good idea to slip on a gilet when you're going for a root around in your underground garage, to thinking it's a good idea to slip on a gilet for a music video.

Never knew that a vest is a gilet. I have a couple, they are fine I guess.

A gilet is a padded jacket, but without arms. Also called a body warmer, back in the day.
Vests are undergarments. Also called wife beaters. Though I guess gilets may be called vests in some quarters.
Who would have thought the world of gilets would be so complex.

I definitely have both. I will now try to weave GILET in as much as possible when I wear one.
