It could be fun! As long as they don't give up many future picks to accomplish this, why not? Dunleavy (their GM) can just pretend he's playing 2k18.

i get that the relationship between JB and the celts was damaged, and I know they got some draft picks from philly but man..adding PG to a team is kind of a plague

It's the worse trade in NBA history. Worse than the Luka trade. I could see how someone could talk themselves into AD. They'd be wrong but I get it. Paul George and a couple (most likely) useless picks cause Jalen Brown is a pain in the ass? You don't want to pay him? Its practically impossible to find talent at that level. You may go a decade before you get another guy like that. I bitch about these guys, I say trade them but you don't actually do it lol! I had one foot out the door with the NBA this kind of helps usher me out. This new private equity ownership group is gonna run this team on a budget for 20 years and sell. They don't care about winning....or they're just super dumb. I'm out!

The Celtics drafted really well this year and a couple of their second/third year guys look pretty nice in summer league - they'll be OK (eventually).

More than a third of the league is tanking every year if you put in minimal effort you'll win 40 games and I'm sure they'll put in maximum effort during the regular season win 50 something games and then they'll be out in the first or second round and be totally fine with it cause just wait till next year. They base their entire strategy on flawed analytics playing against teams that are trying to lose. Keep shooting those threes boys.

They won a championship in 2024. Imagine being a fan of an average to poorly run team.

Apparently the Heat announced a July 27 press conference scheduling "by mistake" announcing LeBron signing with them. They say it is just a placeholder in case he does, but that is a pretty huge "mistake". LeBron to Miami CONFIRMED

yeah the mistake excuse sounds sus

at his age i could understand wanting to play in only certain situations

for pat riley and in miami would make a lot of sense

I mean it was definitely a mistake to post that. I'm sure the Cavs, Sixers, and Warriors have social media stuff ready to go if he signs with them. And I almost feel like even LeBron was going to choose them before, now he won't because of this. Oh well.
