If impeachment passes through the senate, they immediately vote on if he should be banned from running again as well.

I’m not sure the precedence that a sitting president can do literally anything in their final weeks without consequence, including forcing out and threatening state officials and inciting a riot all in the name of overturning election results, is super heathy for our republic going forward.

There are also a lot of Republican representatives/senators up for re-election in 2022 in battleground states whose names I would love to have on record as preventing removal, seeing as how his immediate removal has historically unprecedented support among moderate voters right now.

But in general I just suspect the GOP is just going to wish they’d 25th’d him before this is all over.
