My bike ride route takes me past a McDonald's. Pretty sure the only thing they no longer have to pay for is someone to clean the lobby. 2 drive thru lanes always full, no matter what time of day. From old folks getting a fish sandwich and a coffee, to 16 year olds wanting a shake to chase away the cottonmouth.

My (not)boyfriend just got back from Cambodia. Through China. And a horrible horrible medical testing experience.

We’re gonna wipe this country out. At last.

Where are the HR professionals in the house?

Is there any way to set up a PTO donation system through a payroll/ HR provider like ADP? As a major disaster has been declared by the feds in my state, the tax implications for the donor are no longer in effect.

So is it too late for a national lockdown to work at this point or is there still time? Does it even matter, if the president wouldn't encourage it? Also a little disappointed to hear Cuomo question this in today's briefing, when he wondered if they made the right move. If the people who study viruses & pandemics believe you have to shut things down, well... Even the #2 all-time Capitalist Bill Gates said shut it down. I think he knows a thing or two about fighting diseases as well. How have some people not figured out yet that mass testing is the first step toward some potential turn around?

If it really takes at least 12 months to get a vaccine out there, then this will eventually spread everywhere. Maybe we'll have a therapeutic at some point in the meantime, but either way it'll be an issue everywhere at some point. The White House is not handling this well. I would not be surprised to see his improving approval rating take a dip in a month or two. I know that type of prediction has a 0% success rate, but if America's outcome in all this is average or worse, I think people will notice. Maybe we will figure some things out and buy time. But if the apex in the FIRST hot spot is still 2-3 weeks away, with other hot spots clearly emerging, then I can't even imagine what the tone in the country is like then, given that it's already at fever pitch.
