I always thought it was the job of one team to do everything in their power to beat the other team, and that includes adapting to the game dynamics. For the most part, fuck those unwritten rules.

I understand being pissed about someone stealing a base with a 10 run lead in the 9th inning, and stuff like that, but this is crazy. 2-0 in the 5th? If what Rasmus did is so uncouth, wouldnt the shift essentially be a violation of unwritten rules as well?

the best part, was Colby Lewis's post game comments, claiming Rasmus was clearly only looking at his stats and trying to push his batting average up and not thinking about the team. A team player should try at all cost to get into scoring position with 2 outs, the fact that he didnt steal on the first two pitches proved he was only in it for himself.

Yes Colby Lewis, Colby Rasmus and his blazing wheels that have all of 26 stolen bases in 41 attempts should have tried to steal second after bunting on your shift to prove he was a team player.



I think the Yankees losing Tanaka made everyone in the AL East think the division was up for grabs. Not that the Yankees were running away with it at all, but with him and CC down for possibly the whole season, it almost takes them OUT of the equation.

The Yankees losing Tanaka changes very little about the AL East.

Wait, really? I thought Rasmus had a long-established reputation as a dick. Didn't his dad come out and complain about a bunch of shit a few years ago? Maybe I'm thinking about someone else though.

His dad did come out and complain about a bunch of shit. But I don't see how that makes Rasmus a dick; it makes his dad a dick, but Rasmus himself never really got involved in that.

Plus, the reputation he developed in St. Louis was based on things Tony Larussa said while trying to run him out of town. And Larussa has a history of that kind of thing. Larussa always talked about how Rasmus would only take advice from his dad and refused to listen to coaches, but we've pretty much seen the exact opposite in Toronto.
