I discovered a park with a huge MTB trail system 2 miles from my house yesterday. Well, I knew the park was there but thought the only entrance was way on the other side, making it impractical for weekday running. Turns out there's a secret entrance right off my usual route. And the first mile has pretty much every trail characteristic you're going to find here--ski trails, single track, uphills, downhills, sand, roots, rocks, pavers, switchbacks, etc. I should be able to run there, run that section for 15-20 minutes, and run home without having to wake up ridiculously early. Game changer.

what fields do you guys use on your watch?

like you can customize the menus

first menu
1. HR
2. Pace
3. Time

second menu
1. Distance
2. Lap Pace (not actually sure what this does yet)
3. Last Lap Pace (not actually sure what this does yet)

I downloaded a custom face from Garmin IQ that displays HR, avg pace, cadence, overall time and distance on one screen. I think it's called single run field.

Cadence isn't really, but I prefer avg pace to current pace. With current I feel like I'm constantly checking my watch and either speeding up or slowing down.

I'll disagree with guestT on that one, I want to know my current pace at all times.
