Bonus:

LeBron MVP, though he pretty much won that when KD got hurt.

Doc--Coach of the Year, cementing his status as one of the most overrated humans ever

Melo--Scoring champ (assuming KD won't qualify, but now that I think about he may. KD if he qualifies)

Dwight--DPOY

...

Misc:

By January Wade will have people convinced he's "back" and "as good as ever." He'll be averaging 26/4/4. And then his body will break.

...just realized my Spurs-Thunder WCF prediction doesn't match them being 2 and 3 seeds. All I know is the Clippers will be mad overrated after the regular season and they won't make it out of round 2. So I guess I'm taking Thunder over Rockets in the WCF. Coaching atrocities everywhere!!!!!

Rose won't make it through the season as his old self. He might survive and play 70 games, but he won't consistently be what he was.

Over/under on number of times that "Coming Home" song gets played: 5,000,000.

I need a drink.

Not sure I know why everyone seems to be loving the Thunder so much (at least before KD's injury). I don't see it. I think their window has closed. Add the rash of injuries and they're a 4 or 5 seed at best in the West. Also, I'm officially a Westbrook hater at this point. Dude's a mess come crunch-time.

Also, y'all are falling asleep on the Mavs.

The Thunder will be fine. They're falling to the 3 seed because of KD's injury, but they'll have home court in round 1 by the end of the season. I'm taking the Thunder mostly because I think the Clippers are frauds and if KD, Ibaka, and Westbrook are healthy in a series against the Spurs I like the Thunder. I like the Spurs in a series versus every single other team in the league. Yes, I still yell into a my pillow every night about Ibaka's calf injury since LeBron would still be here right now if it wasn't for that. But I digress. I'm also selling your Westbrook is bad in crunch time statement.

Is my drink here, yet?

Sadly, I really believe it. Obviously, most casual fans only watch the playoffs (with good reason), so many people have assumed that Wade has been a shell of himself for 2-3 years now but that's really not the case. He just breaks down by the end of the season. And when he breaks he isn't one of those guys that can still contribute...he becomes virtually useless as you guys have seen the last couple postseasons. So anyway, when he starts this year off playing well and scoring more because he's getting more opportunities, lots of people are going to fall for the "he's back" narrative, but it will be fool's gold.

Nice interview with MJ on SC last night. He was very open about the fact that he's still tortured by the drive to win and how it's even harder to deal with now because he can't just suit up and influence it directly.

I was going on the OKC games I have watched, but just a quick glance through various stats pretty much confirms my position. He generaly shoots a lot and shoots a low percentage and turns the ball over during crunch time. Last year, in that tight first round match-up with Memphis, for example, he shot about 25% in crunch time and had several costly turnovers. He also went 1 for 7 and had a bad turnover in OT of Game 6 against the Spurs.

He did, however, have a good series against the Clippers (particularity that rip of Paul and 3 clutch FTs in Game 5), which seemed to catch everyone's eye. But generally, he's a disaster.
