Random thought: Jeff Ament’s “Safe in the Car” might be my favorite non-Pearl Jam solo track from any of the band members, though I am a big fan of the Bayleaf and Moonlander albums.

Going to start listening to each album all the way through, just to get in the mood for a new album. I'll save BS and LB for last so it will really leave me craving good new music from them.
First up, Binaural.

Vests are undergarments. Also called wife beaters. Though I guess gilets may be called vests in some quarters.
Who would have thought the world of gilets would be so complex.
You had me going there for a while but with your grossly inaccurate wife beater comment, I can’t believe a word you say.
Also *Pit comment alert* - Is that video mirrored? Why is Ed’s wedding ring on the wrong hand? Does Jill know about this?

Random thought/realization popped into my head while listening to some old PJ:
my favorite PJ covers are now based on how awesome Mike plays on it. I guess you could say I'm the cliché who loves the shredding guitar solos - so I'm really loving PJ's versions of Comfortably Numb and Little Wing at the moment. (not that I ever didn't like them)
Don't know if this one belongs in random thoughts or admit something - but the first couple of times I listened to DotC - I couldn't help but hope that it's going to be similar to Lightning Bolt in the sense that Mike plays a killer solo at the end when played live. I'm sure some will say that that would kill or ruin the song, but I can't help it - like I said, I'm cliché "loves guitar solo" guy.... (I do limit my air guitar to when I'm by myself or in the van - I am not concert air guitar guy

)

Is "Catholic Boy" a good song, or is it Stockholm Syndrome because it's Pearl Jam playing?

Not only do I think it's a legitimately good song, I've really come to appreciate Carroll's vocals over the years.
Love the original version. Also love people who died. So much. Great fucking songs.

The lyrics are spectacular. Really powerful, with a great performance by Carroll (and those gang vocals). But the music, while good, is nothing spectacular.
I don't want to argue with you today
