Bill Maher is awesome.
About 15 years ago I was able to get backstage after a taping of his show. Wasn't really backstage was the "after" thing on the rooftop of the soundstage. Probably 100 people there? Was like a 30 minute thing. Maher shows up and I get to talk to him for a minute (really not much more). I told him he should book Ed has a guest or something like that. He didn't seem too impressed with the idea. I'm pretty sure they hadn't even met at that point. So basically I take all credit for them being BFF.

I don’t care if Ed paid $190/person for a New Years dinner. Hawaii is expensive and it’s a nice restaurant. Seems reasonable, honestly. But if he ate foie gras? Then fuck that guy.

You had the show the next day, and I did not attend. I met up with everyone at your after party, and when you realized I wasn’t at the show, you dryly asked, “Well, where were you… out having a sandwich?” A bunch of us sat, and I recall you ordering foie gras and me asking if you were sure you knew what you were ordering. You always had such elegant taste.

$190 a plate for NYE isn't that bad. A shitty college bar here in town was charging $100 a person last night and there was no food.

Bill Maher is an imbecile but that's not what I find annoying about that picture. It just seems kind of starfuckery. Do they have non-famous friends? I bet they had a closed-door debate on whether to let Bobby Slayton be in it
$190 NYE dinner seems actually pretty reasonable. I paid a hair less than $100 at a just-okay restaurant in Houston

You probably recall reading an article a few years back with Aaron Paul talking about when he bought Ten... I don’t want to call someone a liar but does anyone else think we should call bullshit here?
Ten’ came out on the day of his 12th birthday, and was the first album he ever owned.
The actor saved up loose change in an old sock to pay for the album, he recalled, and headed down to his local record store to buy it for himself as a birthday treat.
“I came home with my new birthday gift I had just bought myself and I was beaming,” Paul wrote. “Could not wait to listen to it.
Really? The day it came out? What 12 year old had heard of Pearl Jam on the day Ten was released? I know he’s from Washington but still... was he going to Mookie Blaylock shows at age 11 and counting down the days until the album dropped?

On one hand, the "Alive" video wasn't even being played yet, although the song might have been on the radio already. On the other hand, the album
was released on his birthday.
