Hot Rod. I laughed a few times but it's really stupid and boring overall.

i don't know if it's actually bad. it's sort of an odd duck. it's got ricky jay, it's got mamet's partner/wife who is deliciously cloying. and it is SO slow and quiet. to use the parlance of the young, it's a whole mood.tragabigzanda wrote:i loved this when it came out. agreed. thought about comments about kubrick casting cruise & kidman -- that they were vapid enough to play the leads in Eyes Wide Shut -- as i watched scott act.tragabigzanda wrote: Campbell Scott is just such a weird actor. He conveys nothing, but he does it perfectly. He's like a dead star around which a director orbits his more lively planets.
