Since dad is not walking anymore, I spent an hour walking in the woods this morning for him. The walk started off a little unsettling because there were three separate signs posted about what to do if encountering a coyote, but things quickly smoothed out once I got comfortable on the path. The trail took many twists and turns and ended up on the banks of buffalo bayou where multi-million dollar homes with spanish tiled roofs and white stucco siding sat perched just beyond the water. I saw one rabbit and many very tall pine trees, but no coyotes. This was a very good walk. I normally run these trails, so seeing them at a much slower pace was a revelation.

Maybe that belonged in the hiking thread, but there was very little elevation gain so it didn't really feel like a "hike" even though that's kina what it was.

Do all your extra calories go to your belly?

i've been taking my dog on walks, so that counts for something.

thirty-minute walks. i need to get back to waking early and going for a walk on my own. it was a good way to start off the day.

I've had no desire to do so in quite some time.

took the dog on 2.41-mile walk. every single sound in the world freaked her out on the walk. from other dogs to cars to me occasionally dragging one of my feet, causing my sneakers to squeak. when we arrived home i brought the trash bin up from the curb, one had on her leash, one on the bin. you'd have thought i was going to run her over with it. she tried her damnedest to get away. poor doggo.

feels good to get another jaunt notched up.

Is this a normal thing for her or did something scare her?

she's just not fully socialized...though we've taken her to the dog park a couple of times in the last couple of days.

she does get super excited about seeing people though, so that's good.
