The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall all alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops.“
Not gonna lie. I had dreams all through my wife’s pregnancy that our son would be born into an Astros mini dynasty when he came in September. Oh well. He’s here and this playoff run sure was fun having him around for it.

If you’re not first, you’re last. Go Mariners.

I was completely impartial during this WS. I’m glad it was so compelling and fun to watch. Game 7s are a beauty to behold. Sorry it sucks for you, Reid. Happy for all the DC fans. 2020 can’t get here soon enough. Go Twins!

What really stings about this World Series is that I know this Astros team was the heel this time around and I understand why. The baseball gods are just, and that sucks for Astros fans.

Cole will sign elsewhere
Springer will get chlamydia
Verlander will retire
Greinke will force a trade
Altuve will be a shell of his former self
Go Mariners 2020

One of those Astros related things is almost a certainty.

A’s and maybe Angels might give us a race in 2020, but I don’t see us losing the division for the next couple of years at least. Come September, it’s just a matter of postseason mettle. 2017 was magical, mostly because of team chemistry. I wonder if we’ll ever see an Astros team having that much fun together again. Seems like that was almost there but mostly missing this fall. Was Marwin the missing clubhouse piece?

Well fellow Astros fan(s?), the die has been cast and the court of public opinion has found our squad of (un)loveable losers sincerely wanting. There is no escaping the tweetstorms and the he said she saids of cheating allegations, so as fan(s?) here on RM, there's no choice to embrace the moniker of villain next season and beyond. Otherwise we just look like Draymond Green. That being said, it's imperative as a team full of villains and douches that we win another championship in this era. Otherwise, this team will be a laughingstock, just like we were a few years ago, only this time for less endearing reasons. Dark times in Houston Town. Nothing left to do but root root root for the heelstros. God bless Texas.

The Houston Asterisks are the New New England Patriots. Congratulations on a long and despised dynasty.

Like everyone else I merely wish my team had done more cheating of its own.
