The Chiefs also gave up a good amount to move up and snatch Mahomes; a move I was in full support of.
I see. I feel like these teams are in drastically different situations.

after years of mediocre QB-ing the Jets know that if they don't take a dynamo QB in this draft they are basically going to be SOL for a while at that position

they had the most money available in free agency and still couldn't get Cousins to sign

that means you have to do it in the draft

the move up to 3 now is smart - price will def only go up closer-to the day

Sure, but look at the exact situation that led to Cousins becoming who he is now. My point is not that they should avoid drafting and grooming a qb. It's that their other moves this offseason set them up to be patient. And, in waiting to trade they could know more about other teams' plans.

Like I started with: interesting maneuvering.

I'm unsure what your point is... in other news a team could get gigantic on their d-line by signing both Hankins & Suh.

I'm pretty sure I posted a while ago I thought the Pats might regret not staying at 29 and drafting cordarelle. Maybe things will work out afterall.

The details of Bradford's deal are out.

It's still too much money, but in reality it's a better deal (for the Cards) than it seems on the surface.
The Cardinals gave Bradford a $10 million signing bonus, and have him at a base salary of $5 million.

The reality of the contract is that for Bradford to make any money at all outside of the $10 million guaranteed over the next two years, he will have to play in games.

The Cardinals have Bradford signed to a $312,500 per game contract. For Bradford to hit the $20 million mark, he has to play in all 16 games this year.

Most of these deals don't really pay players jack shit beyond the initial bonus/first year unless they do something incredible like make the pro-bowl. NFL contracts are still a joke.

And they'll always be a joke even if they're fully guaranteed, as way too many people are whining about right now. If you had fully guaranteed contracts the teams would just offer most players successive 1-year deals and nothing practical would change.

There's no way around the supply and demand facts that:
--There are way more players on a football roster than most (all?) other sports, thus smaller pieces of the pie.
--Football players get hurt more than most other sports, making true long term commitments impractical.

Absolutely they are. I'm not comparing the teams at all.

Honestly, I hope it's drugs. Because if there aren't drugs involved...

When asked why he was traded, Pierre-Paul said, "I'm stumped."
