A song so fucking terrible it inspired me to create a new account when I couldn't remember my password.

I mean... Jesus Christ, besides the hilarity of PRAMG Ed ragging on rich old dudes for being rich old dudes, while remaining in as much denial about his vocal abilities as he is his hairline, it just feels like this is a band completely devoid of any creativity, or quality control.

The last few records have had their hit and miss moments, and fair enough, its an 'Xmas Single' in March, which tells you everything you need to know about how little of a fuck these guys give, but this is just an embarrassment. You hear the 90s diehards crying that nothing sounds like Vs anymore, but I'd take a million Backspacer's over this garbage.

Opinions are like assholes and all that, and my love of PJ has been in decline for a few years, but it really feels like this is the end of the road for me.

Matt's return to Soundgarden showcased what he can really do, Jeff's solo output and RNDM stuff was on the spectrum of interesting to awesome, Mike's done some cool soundtrack stuff and Stone wrote a song about salmon, but, hell, it's Stone. I'm used to ragging on Eddie and I still believe he's the single biggest cause of the mediocrity of this band's once great output, but it doesn't even seem like the rest of them give half a fuck anymore. Spend 4 hours in a Studio hashing out a demo, punt it out, play a few stadium gigs so they can maximise the profit, save the need for a whole tour, then go back into hibernation for a year and go back to selling branded dog bowls to the inbred contingent of the Message Pit or whatever it's called these days. This is what it's come to.

A lot of great bands (think Rolling Stones) have descended into semi-lameness, but none of them can hold a candle to the rapid decline of Pearl Jam. I went from being 100% interested to 0% interested in just a few years. I used to defend them all the time during the No Code/Yield period, but now I'm embarrassed for people to know that I ever liked them.

It's astonishing. Their creative decline was so swift and comprehensive, it's as though they abandoned what made them a good band almost overnight.

I had PJ radio on Sirius XM on... this song came on... volume was low and I was talking with my wife... at first I thought it was Cornell singing. Cool song.
