Today we learned that Twitter has blacklist tools to shadowban users despite claiming otherwise.

I thought this was common knowledge already, tbh.

Imagine the chaos they could have unleashed if they used it for more than a low rent bitcoin scam.

This is weird.
Few days ago I got a screen on twitter asking me to confirm my login phone number and password.
I just cancelled it.
Then yesterday got a screen saying my account has been limited and it just disappeared before I could finish reading it. Accounts not limited at all.

It seems like 60% of people complaining about banning Tik Tok are Taylor Lorenz stans. Oh no, she'll have to e-stalk different 14 year olds to get new content.

A couple of my more conservative friends have been raving about how great Parler is. I'm considered going there just to eaves drop on the wackadoos.

No idea if its enforceble, but their TOS holds the user liable for any legal fees Parler incurrs related to the user's posts.

It's pretty buggy, and full of MAGA clones parroting the same boring stuff to each other. These "free speech" platforms don't really work when that's the only reason to use them, though if the normie social media sites ban enough people, one might take off.

Lol there may one day be a replacement for Twitter but it won't be because they've banned too many folks.

Twitter's whole appeal is that people get to fight with and mock people they hate all day, so I doubt they'd be dumb enough to ban too many people at once. But if they ever did, it would collapse.

Right--they'd have to ban our idiot president and Elon Musk and Kate McKinnon and that's just not going to happen. The whole point of Twitter is being where the bad people are.
