That's like saying this song is okay.
Seriously, what I said wasn't that absurd.

We were all just enjoying the song and then chud had to go make it ridiculous.
Ok, some normalcy has been restored. Thanks.

Wouldn't it be great if Stone knew an amazing rock singer who could make these songs sound even better.

Compare Stone's guitar tones on this to Amongst the Waves, or any Backspacer track - it's depressing.

Or just the fact that he submitted Supersonic to the band for Backspacer. Clearly there must be some disconnect between Stone and Ed in terms of what Ed is willing to work on these days, right?. Doesn't he imply during SVT that he had to badger the rest of the guys (Ed) about In Hiding? He probably figures that hes too old for all that effort and jockying and does a scrooge mcduck dive into a giant money pile instead in order to ease the pain:

or it was just a band decision to go with the simpler, straight ahead rockers for this album they call backspacer?

Stop pouring water on my 'Stone is being suppressed' conspiracy theory, Strat.

This tracks shows that Stone is Jesus Christ and Eddie is Pilate. This album is his gift to all of us so that we may enter the gates of Heaven.

Aligning oneself with B does not inspire confidence in your ability "get it" yourself.

Just listened to I Need Something Different. I thought it was great. Some of the lyrics/vox may be a tad iffy at times but the cool music and production moar than makes up for AT !!

I really hate how the members of Pearl Jam seem to be restricted by Pearl Jam now, instead of making Pearl Jam whatever they want it to be. There is no reason why the band can't tackle this kind of stuff.

Moonlander is fucking cool. Obviously the members of this band still have some great music in them. So, what the fuck was Backspacer ??

Maybe Ed shouldn't write anything on the next record and just sing.

I get really confused reading certain reactions sometimes, but my main takeaway is that some people (particularly those who didn't like Backspacer) want an expansiveness and "grander" sound. As opposed to something that sounds concise and compact like Backspacer. The inference being that something that has that expansive sound is better. That's what I'm interpreting from all this talk about missing certain guitar tones and stuff from PJ. Personally I think it's just a difference in approach, not something necessarily better or worse.

Are people that desperate for new PJ related material? These songs are solid tunes but that's about it.
