This is probably the best example and I'm pissed I didn't think of it. I even said Neko Case. Can't believe I didn't think of it then.

I am not looking back to see but Soundgarden? Screaming Life and Fopp are EPs so that release doesn’t count, leaving Ultramega OK (yes), Louder Than Love (quite possibly yes), Badmotorfinger (yes), Superunknown (yes), Down on the Upside (yes), King Animal (I thought so). Takers?

King Animal is good, especially as a comeback album, but it's not excellent.

tragabigzanda wrote:yeah I vote for Soundgarden. Some albums definitely have some weaknesses, but they always swung for the fences, and I can't think of a single track I'd call "boring."
I mailed Pete a copy of Ultramaga OK once and I think he just thought it was "OK".
However, I'm with you here.

I Love You, Honeybear is in fact a great album.
I would argue Down on the Upside is too for that matter.
Neither artist makes the cut for this thread however.

Superunknown and Down on the Upside are as close to being flawless rock albums as I can imagine.
Badmotorfinger is very close but I think it kind of fizzles at the end.
