I didnt realize they were p90's! Is that a gibson les paul jr special or whatever?Self wrote:P90s are single coils.Strat wrote:...I believe it has to do with Ed playing a gibson there. Some meaty humbuckers.
Looks like a straight up junior with one pickup. Yeah, they are a different beast than other single coils, but still have more bite and chime than humbuckers. I like them a lot.Strat wrote:I didnt realize they were p90's! In any case, P90's are far more aggressive. P90's are built more like humbuckers than classic single coils found on tele's and strats.
My next guitar will hopefully be one of those in the "Television Yellow" or whatever. I recently sold off one of my guitars with p90's and im missing that sound.Self wrote:Looks like a straight up junior with one pickup. I know you've seen it, but the double-cut Les Paul Special I picked up in the fall is pretty great. Years for those were 2002 to 2007, I think. They pop up on reverb all the time, but I had to be patient to get one for under $800. I really wanted 2 pups and separate tone and volume controls for each. So many tones with that config. Also wanted the bridge for intonation. Can never get it perfect with just a wrap around.Strat wrote:My next guitar will hopefully be one of those in the "Television Yellow" or whatever.
