Interesting that there was no post-Yield song apart from those from Gigaton. Will the Gigaton songs be gone from a similar setlist after another album has been released?
Maybe? Hopefully not. I think Avocado and Gigaton songs fit better than Riot Act or Backspacer.

I do like that they went for it and played a bunch of gigaton tracks. Maybe not the most festival friendly thing, but kinda brave for where they are in their career and I’m sure the Jamily in the crowd appreciated it.

I too would rather hear almost anything else instead of Elderly Woman, Betterman, RITFW, but:

It was a festival show. They always go heavy on the hits.
They were excited to play and test as much Gigaton material as they could since they couldn’t for over a year, leaving less room in the setlist for feckin’ Comatose and helphelp
Festival show: shorter setlist in general = sorry Force of Nature

They’ve pretty much abandoned the previous album’s heavy rotation songs every time since Riot Act. I never would have imagined Save You would by played as sparingly as it has been since 2006. WWS and The Fixer are barely played and I expect the same for Lightning Bolt and MYM.

Riot Act songs are awesome live. I’ll take Save You 1/2 Full, Cropduster and LBC over just about anything that came afterward.

there's a good chance they'll officially release this, yeah?

it'd be nice to hear the new songs in a proper mix.

I’m not sure if these will be released since the festivals are before the start of the Gigaton Tour shows. That’s what’s happened in 2013 with London and Wrigley.

Edit: But LB wasn’t released either.

And the silverest of silver linings - Can’t Deny Me was NOT played. It would have been a kick in the dick if that turd was in rotation too.

Spending my Sunday morning watching the YouTube clips.
I’m not going to complain a bit about the ‘21 setlists; all festivals with an album’s worth of new material to break out.
I’m most curious what Ed’s solo set will look like in that regard.
Did I mention how happy to see them back on stage. I know when the time comes for me to see them in person my fanboy excitement will return once again.

great they’re back. looking forward to watching the videos

one observation. Dance asks for lots of singing at the end. kind of weak that the band doesn’t step up to do background vocals. it’s just ed, josh and tracks.

that’s a strange choice when it is a cool opportunity for all of them to sing along.
