This song is everything I want music to be maybe.
Catchy, loose, fun, spacious.

100% agree. This is a good way of putting it. Pearl Jam has this type of song on most albums (on paper). But this one is special. This is one of my 3-4 favorites on the album.Farmer John wrote:This was the song that I latched onto the most in the beginning. It was the one I wanted to listen to right away after I was finished the album. On paper, this is the kind of song I like least from Pearl Jam, but for whatever reason, this song really does it for me. It's just catchy as hell. And I love the groove.

Same, and same.dimejinky99 wrote:I’m coming around to this one.
In no universe is it worthy of anything more than a 3 though
and the best part of the song is after this when it locks back in to the main little riff.Ms Harmless wrote:the "gaping maw" section is so much the Pearl Jam I recognise
Jeff is doing some super cool noodling in this song, and the distorted bass is a perfect decision to give it the beef-up it needs

yes
yeah it's not even close. which is why i compared it more to MFC, something i hold in much higher esteem.Ms Harmless wrote:Supersonic *wishes* it was this song
MFC is lyrically serious but musically light and breezy. I'm not sure what Never Destination wants to be.stip wrote:I mean it has something to say in a way that Supersonic didn't (but in fairness didn't try to). I wonder what song in the catalog this is closest to. Maybe MFC, but MFC is a serious song in a way this one manages not to be, despite having substance

There are so many moments like this on the album. That's a good one.evenslow wrote:I won't be taken, won't take myself
Kicking and screaming, have to knock my off the shelf
the EV and PJ mission statement right there, basically.
