Really? I am not one of those arms crossed slugs that goes to every show. I go to a couple a tour. Why should I sit at the back of the floor, while people who just joined gets wings closer to the stage? Sorry, I never disagreed with lottery rows, even though that bumped me a "bit". This bumps me way more than a bit.
people aren't owed anything just because they've been a fan longer. If you are such a hardcore fan, get there early and prove it.

Because who cares. Also, if they "just joined," this may be their first Pearl Jam show. You've already wasted years of your life building these strangely repetitive memories...they've got a lot of catching up to do.
Seeing a band a couple of times each tour is enough to be a little silly, anyway, in my humble-yet-stubborn opinion.

Humbly disagree. Concerts are my hobby. Go to a bunch ofdifferent shows a year, PJ just being one. TMuch like golf is for some. I don't feel entitled, nor do I feel as something is owed to me. Just think GA sucks. I can fight it out, kind of takes away from the experience
On a side note, it said quite clearly there are less GA tix, so you might get shut out if u go GA ala Wrigley.

Or maybe everyone will try and game the system and pick reserved because of Wrigley, leaving more GA. Having the GA/RES option did not do the lotto any favors, but it is what it is.

look, pearl jam fans can be old wealthy yuppies who can buy 40 dollar dog colllars, or they can be internet weirdos living in their parent's basement. But we really should commit to a stereotype here.
We should probably set down some parameters and definitions for the various stereotypes that are acceptable. Pearl Jam is popular enough to have a few, but we should really be consistent with what they are.

Apparently they are according to PJ's fan club ticket policy since day 1.
And I would also argue that many "hardcore" fans may not get there early becuse logistically it's not possible.

At base, concerts are a passive hobby. Even if you thrash about, sing along, dance, or masturbate wildly onto all who surround you....you're still really a spectator. So I suppose, then, that things like location would be significant to your ability to indulge your "hobby." I can get that.
Golf, though, sucks, and should be considered a misdemeanor or worse.

There's a difference between saying "Fuck! GA sucks! I'm gonna get my goddamn shoes puked on!" and saying " Why should I sit at the back of the floor, while people who just joined gets wings closer to the stage?" One is a reasonable and possibly accurate complaint, and the other sounds entitled.
The important thing is that this, like all problems everywhere in the world, would be solved if Pearl Jam would just listen to me and stop playing live. Go make a shit ton of records. Stop rolling your shrinking stones.

This problem could be solved by doing the exact opposite as well.. play MOAR shows. Play more cities.. Increase supply, reduce demand.

Thanks! No argument there. It sucks, but it's happened to me before.

what if "more supply" means "lesser quality"?

So if I get tickets in the lottery on the 15th, is that when they charge my card for the fee?

I could see that...just go straight up nostalgia act, stop pretending to be artistically engaged or relevant. Start the countdown to county fairs. That kind of thing.
What a pathetic group of followers that kind of behavior must amass.

I'm sorry, sir. You are, in fact, an entitled fan clubber. I'm sure that you are a nice guy and all, but you are entitled. I just call it like I see it. You can't just say "I don't feel entitled" while being entitled. Just saying you're not entitled doesn't eradicate your entitled-ness. It's like that Seinfeld ep where you can't just take a reservation, you have to "hold" the reservation.

That was pretty awful at Midtown. I think that experience has jaded me and is why I'm only requesting reserved seating for the Charlotte show.

GA always sucks, i want a little bit of personal space, even though it can get crowded with the seats there, it still helps me feel a bit more comfortable. If people who show up later or plan on making a beer run every 10 minutes instead of enjoying the show would stay in the back then all would be good, but those dicks think they deserve to be up front more then us that are there on time and want to stay in our spot the whole show.
