Girls must overcome ‘discomfort’ of seeing ‘male genitalia’ in locker rooms
What the hell?

I went back and read the Charlotte Observer article.
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/opinio ... 75147.html

It says nothing about seeing genitalia. It says some may need to overcome the discomfort of "the thought of male genitalia in girls’ locker rooms – and vice versa." I've met very few transgendered individuals, but I can't imagine any of them wanting their genitalia seen by strangers.

What people need to get over is this fear that "oh my god, there might, MIGHT, be a penis in the next stall."

I can't help but feel that this is one of 9,000 issues that my proposed carpet bombing of the plains and south would resolve.

Goddamn biased electorate.

Along those lines (but it's nice see some GOPers were offended):

A House conservative went after dozens of fellow Republicans on Thursday with suggestions that they'd sinned for backing an anti-discrimination proposal against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.

Rep. Rick Allen, a Georgia freshman, launched the GOP's regular policy meeting in the Capitol basement by reading a Bible passage condemning homosexuality and suggesting that supporters of the LGBT provision, which passed the House the night before, were defying Christian tenets, attendees said.

Several Republicans walked out of the room in disgust.

"It was f---ing ridiculous," said one GOP lawmaker, who was in the room and supported the LGBT provision. A GOP leadership aide offered a similar verdict.

"A lot of members were clearly uncomfortable and upset," the aide said.

I don't know about you guys, but I always check everyone's genitalia when I enter a bathroom to make sure they are the same sex as me. I am just as concerned about the destruction of society as anyone else.

Every once in a while I'll be at a urinal and I can just sense the guy next to me is trying to sneak a peek at my junk. I always want to punch them but am afraid of having urine sprayed everywhere.

Religious fanatics are the only politicians that probably actually believe in they're own anti-lgbt bs. We're in a historical period when it's beyond obvious it's not a question if the rights and anti discrimination policies will be extended and accepted but it's merely a question of when. I'm convinced people running for office who oppose all that are perfectly aware of that.
It hints at how many layers the cynicism beyond this kind of pro discriminatory politics has beyond discrimination itself. There's promising something to the electorate fully knowing there is no way the promise will be met in the long run and delaying the inevitable solely because it brings votes.

Y'know, what no one points out, is it would have supremely easy to pass laws to protect kids in public bathrooms w/o discriminating against anyone.

1) No peeking in stalls.
2) No hanging out in bathrooms w/o peeing.
3) No touching people in bathrooms.
4) No waving genitals outside of stalls.
5) No raping people.
6) No molesting people.
7) No masturbating in the bathroom.

Is that everything everyone's afraid of?

I presume that you are likeky referring to the NC law, but there's serious stupidity on the other side.

Title IX and this recent federal directive are entirely inconsistent.

If you missed New Yorks recent rules on preferred pronouns and the insane liability involved... I cant be bothered to provide a link on mobile.

I am confounded by the big ado being made about who uses what washroom. The easy route is to update building codes that require single occupant washrooms in new buildings going forward. Until then, it really all comes down to who may be beside you when you wash your hands and that's ridiculous.
If a man who still has some lady bits goes into a washroom, he'll have to use a stall. Using a urinal would be next to impossible.
A woman with some left over man parts doesn't have the choice of a urinal in the woman's washroom and has to use a stall.
So, as far as I can see the issue is about who's possibly washing their hands beside them. Seriously, these people complaining just make me mad.
