Huh. Tab just jumps to the next clickable thing down, right? To me that makes sense. It'd be like complaining that I have to press tab twice to post this, because the first button down is "Preview"

The computer mouse is the crutch for the inefficient. It hides the bad interface design that b is pointing out. Sure, you can go through life using the mouse, but then you'll never know the sheer joy of good keyboard flow.

Wrong. The most likely scenario is someone just wants to log in. That should be the one tab option. It's designed inefficiency.

"The next clickable thing" should be the thing that your users want to do.

You don’t have to hit tab at all though

Go log out of Gmail and then try to log back in. See where one tab gets you.

There is no reason to hit tab here, one time or two times. Just enter your email address and hit enter.
It will take you to the next screen. Don't hit tab and enter. What is going on here?

B refuses to acknowledge that the most effecient option is the enter button and that fact is really starting to puzzle me.

It's like continuing to complain that door knobs are at hand/arm level and therefore not very conducive to opening with your foot.

B! What are you doing with the tab button? Why are you touching the tab button? Keep your finger away from the tab button. It is very rare that you ever need to use the tab button

At least it's not the windows button.

I'm basically going through the five stages of grief over this whole tab thing. I was angry at B, then I tried to convince myself it was funny, now I just feel sad. He's hitting the tab button before hitting enter. It's just depressing
