I can hear what they're trying to do, and the nerve of them not only trying it, but releasing it half baked. This needs a lot more work on the music and a lot less production. It's just not there. If this was all stripped back and not to blame BOB but if this just sounded really bare, like it was recorded In a bathroom or stairwell, it would be great.

Be interesting to hear how it's represented, live.

Nothing about this song seems half baked. I don't hear 80's hair at all. If anything I get Neil Young.

Yeah, I find the atmospherics actually help this song. It's a darker, more expansive Lowlight. Unfortunately, stripping this down more would only make it more... boring. There's not a lot to it structurally, which is also its strength.

I'm not writing it off yet. New songs, and ones like this especially, are usually growers for me.
Hopefully they play it in Brooklyn next week. I'll be all ears.

This song has a hypnotic quality with the repeated chorus. Good song to get lost in.

I wish it was about a minute longer after the solo. An extra go around on the chorus and then a nice outro solo into a fadeout.

I deleted future days from iTunes so this is how I close out the record. I still don't like it but this makes it about 10% better.

Out of the five songs which I consider 5 star on LB, this was the one which took some time to grow on me. But I knew it would first time I heard it, if that makes sense.

It definitely takes a while to take hold. After my first listen, I wasn't really compelled to return to it, but now I quite like it.

Yeah... I just realised that. It's got the artwork's gun in it.

This song kinda reminds me of 1/2 Full if it were a ballad

One of the few songs actually helped out by the studio atmospherics (or wizardry), I think.

I love the way this song unifies so many opposites. Mournful and affirming, expansive and intimate.

Thats interesting, that swallowed whole seems to be about looking for reasons not to kill yourself, and this one seems to actually depict suicide.

At this point I think I like this song but I could have loved it if not for the keyboards and this type of guitar solos. Ill get over it eventually. I think they could do a pretty awesome live version though. 2000 pj would do a magical version

The keyboards work here in my opinion; they make it more R.E.M or Counting Crows maybe, but PJ has used organ before in this stuff.

My only slight niggle is that this song, along with Pendulum, could have had more work done on the melody. But you know what? It's really fucking great to have a tiny, insignificant complaint about Pearl Jam.

I would have preferred Mike's solos were acoustic or a slide or both. The electric tone is kinda shrill. I also can't stand when he hits a note but rather then let it sustain he hits in again(3:02-3:03).....let it ring man and feedback a little. Other than that it's a real good song.
