The world? Nah. This song will be huge. It already kind of is.

Only in the eyes of trash people

Which is most people, apparently

Lament made a point about how, for a certain age group, TS and Katy Perry are beyond reproach. No matter how bad their singles get, people will be all over them. I think this holds true for TS right now, but it's kinda fading for Katy. "Swish Swish" and its accompanying music video feel like a "how do you do, fellow kids" gambit that hasn't really paid off.

I feel embarrassed whenever I watch Perry do anything

I've heard worse, even from Pearl Jam.

I think Perry is pure cringe lately but I still agree with this. And Swift will never make a song as good as "E.T."

You started off talking about artistry, then skimmed over TS's superior (by your admission) songwriting talent to talk about her persona. Your point is kind of muddled

Is that what makes her ten million times the artist that TS is? That her... brand is better?

I dunno man

They're about equal in my book. I've enjoyed them both at various points in their career, but they seem to be at a nadir.

Here's what I know. I like Taylor Swift. A lot. In general. Her "brand" or whatever doesn't offend me and I really don't get why people think she's a trashy person. However, that new song from a few pages ago is dog-ass.

Katy Perry is a lot of fun. I like her a lot, too. I don't think she's anywhere near as talented as Taylor Swift but I do enjoy her music quite a bit (and often times more, on an individual basis, than TS's music; if that makes sense). I think she's far more "fake" and perhaps "vapid?" than TS. She's certainly a more easily affected and influenced person with less formed opinions.

But both are fun. Both have great songs. Both have shitty songs. I don't know why we have to beat up on either of them.
